With the economy in the shape that it is in, and with more and more people turning to an alternative form of income to see them through it, it is becoming vastly clear that affiliate marketing may begin to play a large part in your life.  With affiliate marketing, you are an entrepreneur who does not need to worry about creating a product, storing it or shipping it; in most cases, you are only introducing other people to the product and taking a portion of the money that results from the sale.  It sounds simple, and the truth of the matter is that it is precisely that simple.  However, it is important to remember, especially as you are getting started, that there are definitely two sides for affiliate marketing.

The first side of affiliate marketing that you are likely to become acquainted with is precisely what is listed above.  You will partner with a program who has a good policy on rewarding its affiliates, and then you’ll find more people who are interested in the product and direct them to the parent site.  With that in mind, you are going to be need to think about what your options are going to be when it comes to making sure that you can get lots of people to look at the product that you are advertising and to purchase it.  You will make your money off of direct sales like this, and while there are some people who can make a fair amount of money this way, the truth is that this is not the best way to make money when it comes to affiliate marketing.

When you want to make an impressive amount of cash through network marketing, and when you want to think about what you can do to make sure that you are getting the results that you need to get, you’ll find that the best way to start seeing the money that you want is to start recruiting affiliates yourself.  When you bring more and more people into the business that you are already a part of, the money really starts coming in because you will be making a portion of their sales as well.  As you might see, this can really give you a lot more cash than just working with direct sales.  You’ll find that having lots of people working and taking a small amount of cash from their sales can go a long way towards seeing you towards financial comfort.

Now, it is important to remember that the leap that comes from working as an affiliate to working as a recruiter of affiliates is something that can be difficult.  After all, not only are you going to convince people that you have a product that they need to buy, you will also need to convince them that you have one that is good enough for them to sell!  This can be something that is tricky to navigate, but at the end of the day, you are going to find that the results are worth it.  Once you get your network built up, you’ll find that this really is a machine that you can set in motion and then not worry about.  You’ll be able to move forward and get the right kind of results every time, and in some cases, you may move out of direct sales yourself.

Lots of people who are new to affiliate marketing find that they are uncertain about how to build a downline, that is, the people who are interested in working for them.  This is something that can make a huge difference when you are thinking about how you want to make money, so consider what your resources are.  Far too many people think that they can talk their relatives and their friends into being part of their downline, but the truth of the matter is that they need to work on finding people who will really bring in the sales, not people who are only marginally interested.  Building a downline is something that takes a lot of work and when you are thinking about moving forward, you need to consider how you are going to do it.

Take some time and make sure that you really know how affiliate marketing works.  Try the free video you can get access to by opting-in here: www.Affiliate-Marketing-Secrets.com Direct sales are very well and good, and they may give you a bit of extra spending money at the end of the day, but at the end of the day, you’ll find that there is another, more profitable side of affiliate marketing and it is all about building your own downline of affiliates.

First of all, what exactly is affiliate marketing? It is basically when you help a company or individual obtain traffic to their site in hopes that their product will be purchased. In turn, you receive a percentage of the money made off of that particular sale. It is very clever. People need people to buy their products all of the time, and affiliate marketers help them to achieve that. As an affiliate marketer, you can market for several different individuals or companies. There is a reasonable amount of income in affiliate marketing, and there are also millions of people that make a 6-figure income from it.

What are the Basics of Affiliate Marketing?

If you are an existing affiliate marketer, or are thinking about becoming one, then you are going to need to know the basics of how the industry works. It is actually quite as simple as 1,2,3. But, the great big world of sales and advertising, along with all of these “how to” guides can tend to complicate things a bit and leave people left feeling lost and confused. It is time to get back to basics.

1. Know what you are selling. All too often, people cannot seem to land success because they are blinded by money. Stop thinking about the money so much, and start focusing on your product. Get involved in your job. If you cannot find interest in what you are selling, then you might need to find another product to market. Other than that, forget about the money you could be making, and draw more attention to your product. Once you are truly involved in your product, then the money will flow.

2. You have got to talk to people. Get the word out that there is this great new product out there that everyone needs to try. Having a website is not going to make money all by itself. Work is work, no matter what it involves. Whether you work from home or out inside of a corporate office, work is exactly what it sounds like. Money does not just magically fall from the heavens like we all wish that it would. We have got to get out there and talk.

3. Create several websites and blogs that will attract traffic to your products. This needs to be one of the things that you spend doing in your free time. When you are not out online sending e-mails and messages to people, you should be steady spending time trying to build more resources that will allow others to come to your product easier and faster. It is all about getting the right amount of traffic.

4. Know your target demographic. If you are an affiliate marketer who is selling baby clothes for another company or individual, then you should know how to target pregnant mom’s and existing mom’s. Go to the library and get books on SEO wording and various other things that you can use to bring the right amount of traffic to your website.

5. Allow your main website to be very eye-catching. People are compelled by what they see. If you create a site or blog that is completely centered around your products and is also very nice to look at, then people will return to your site, and you will get more money. There is also a definite chance that people will tell others about how awesome your site is, and in turn, you will have many more people stopping by to take a peek to see what all of the fuss is about. If you need help in creating graphics for your site, then simply go out to your nearest library, and rent a book on how to do HTML. They have HTML books for beginners who do not know the first thing about graphics. But trust in the knowledge that looks are half of what it takes to be an affiliate marketing success.

6. Do not give up. This is the all around basic rule of affiliate marketing. You do realize that there are millions upon millions of people making thousand’s of dollars a month by doing this, right? I am quite sure that you do. If it has been months and you have not yet seen your first dollar, then you may want to just step back and examine your efforts. Whatever you do, keep trying.

7. Can someone say social networking sites? Hello! This is one of the main ways to become a success in the land of affiliate marketing. Most everyone now either has a Twitter, Myspace, or Facebook. Use these as resources for your products. If you do not want to invade your existing social networking page with your affiliate marketing products, then you can always create a page for your social interest, and one for your networking endeavors. Just make sure not to go spamming everyone. Draw people in by displaying a professional persona.

There you have it, the basics of affiliate marketing. These days, everyone is wanting a piece of the pie, and it is theirs for the taking only if they try. Sure affiliate marketing is not as easy as it once was ten years ago, but that is only because the business is growing. That is very good news, because it says that there is room for everyone, and everyone can succeed. It just takes a little knowledge, time, and persistence.

If you go to www.Affiliate-Marketing-Secrets.com you can get a free video to help you understand the main points of affiliate marketing. Maybe this will be the little ’shove’ you need to get started? Or, maybe you have started but are being frustrated? Why not, have a look and see where you are going wrong?

Richard

Blogs are incredibly popular already and the number of bloggers increases by as many as 80,000 daily. Blogs provide a versatile platform which lends itself well to a wide range of uses.

Rather than providing just written content, there are also photo blogs where users can share their photography with the world. You can even use most modern cell phones to write and upload blog posts; and a lot of people are doing just that! This only goes to show how popular the medium has become.

If you have somehow missed hearing about blogs, this article is for you; read on and learn a little more about what it is that makes blogs so popular.

So, What Is A Blog?

A blog (the word is a shortened for of the phrase Web Log) is a website which contains content sorted chronologically in the form of brief entries called posts. Posts are identified by anchor tags which contain links for the use of others who would like to link to a particular post.

Blogs are first and foremost a means of communication and they may carry any kind of message to the reader. There are blogs whose sole purpose is to direct readers to another website, some are a venue for presenting creative work, some are online diaries and some are even business tools.  A blog can be about anything the blogger feels like writing about.

So, Why Blog?

Blogging is something which hundreds of thousands people do daily; but why do people blog?

Blogs provide people with their very own virtual soapbox where they can say anything and everything that’s on their mind. Unlike submitting their writing to media owners, bloggers know that anything they create will actually see the light of day if they post it on their blog. This is by far the biggest reason that people choose to express themselves through blogging.

Blogs also allow bloggers to have a lot of control over the look and feel of their blog without having to have a background in web development or graphic design. It’s easy to customize your blog to get any look you’d like to have. There’s a lot of freedom for creative expression here in terms of design and layout as well as in the content which bloggers can post.

If you’re interested in getting into blogging yourself, then the first step is to familiarize yourself with blogging platforms and decide on one to use for your blog. You can host a blog on your own website or you can use a blogging community to host your blog. Blogger is one of the most popular platforms, providing hosting services and all of the necessary tools to set up and maintain your blog. Blogger uses web-based tools, so there’s nothing to download or install.

There you have it – the facts on what blogs are and what drives people to blog. A blog can let you express yourself fully; of course, you’ll get more readers if you have something interesting to tell them. One more useful tip for beginning bloggers before our time is up: if you have a website of your own, don’t forget to include links between this site and your blog; this can help you get more traffic to your site and blog alike.

Your friend on the Net,

Richard

It used to be that you’d stay in touch with your clients in a lot of different ways; you’d talk to them over the phone, fax back and forth, send direct mail and meet face to face.

Of course, all of these methods of communication are still in use, but a lot of entrepreneurs are choosing to take advantage of the internet as a medium of communication and information gathering.  Businesses now use email, web based forums, instant messaging and other new technologies in addition to the older methods.

One recent development which is changing the way that business is done is the use of blogs as a business tool. Blogs got their start as online diaries, but the format lends itself to a variety of uses far beyond just sharing your personal opinions with the world. Among these new applications for blogging technology is of course business.

Blogs can be powerful tools for communication and a great way to promote your business. You can have a blog which is part of your website or as a standalone website. You can set up a RSS feed for this blog, which lets you keep current and potential clients up to date on the latest developments in your business as you post them on your blog. You won’t have to send out mass emails constantly, since your blog and its associated RSS feed can get the word out, even if your clientele don’t visit your site regularly.

What A Blog Can Do For Your Business

A Business Blog can save you untold hours of your time and offer you an opportunity to raise the profile of your business, build your brand image and even make sales! They’re free, easy to set up and maintain and are highly customizable. A blog is a very versatile medium which provides you with many different ways to disseminate information and position your products in the consumer or B2B marketplace.

Business blogging is particularly useful to entrepreneurs. Some of the advantages they offer follow:

The number of blogs and the audience for them is rapidly expanding; and about one third of the world’s 50 million internet users are regular visitors to blogs! You can do the math here, but a blog offers an unparalleled level of exposure for your business.

Blogs can be a two way communication channel - your clients can post comments on your blog. This can help you to improve existing products and give you ideas which may be invaluable to you in your marketing efforts.
Blogs are popular with web users, so they provide business owners like yourself an effective way to disseminate information to consumers. They can simply stop by your blog or subscribe to your RSS feed to find out about your offerings. Best of all, many of these people will leave comments on your blog and help spread the word about your business.

Your business blog can be a very powerful marketing tool. Your blog can be submitted to directories and blog search engines as well as to the general interest search engines like Google and Yahoo. Especially if you’ve just built your blog, this will help people find your blog and generate interest in your content; and your products.

Your companion in business,

Richard

The Art of Blogging

Posted In: Internet Marketing by Support

Many consider writing to be an art. If that is the case, then, blogging must too be an art form. Why? Because, it is one particular way of using words. Blogging is all about ‘expressing’ yourself. Anyone who has read another blog, must agree with this. People seem to be more open on their blogs. Its a kind of ‘unreal’ world. So, people use words to express themselves, and it can be a very high form of poetry or art. You get the whole lot: feelings, dreams, wishes, sentiments and desires.

So, what is a blog? A web-log. You remember on Star Trek, “captain’s log - star date….” That was a log. But, obviously one very much inferior and less use than a web-log. So, web-logs became, by nick-name, blogs. They first appeared as web-logs, refering to a “server’s log file.” That started when web-logging first hit the virtual market in the mid-1990s. Since then, web-logging gradually saturated the world wide web, making the Internet a viable source of greater and greater information.

However, there is a big difference: with web-logging, you still need a web site and domain names, but you don’t with blogging. In fact, you do not need anything really, appart from an account with a blog provider. The good news is, in most cases, these kinds of blogs are totally free of charge.

What blogging meant was that for the first time, an ordinary person could be known all over the world.  Despite this, blogs are generally created for personal use, and are, quite frankly, for fun. Like an old fashioned diary, anyone can write of their daily adventures, their likes and dislikes and, most importantly for them, their opinions. Bloggers can get their ideas across to a multitude. They can, very quickly, get quite a following.

This is tremendously powerful. This is what you need to understand. Blogging really is - power to the people!

And this is where blogging and business meet.  The Internet has provided a business opportunity for anyone.  That is an absolute truth (that does not mean to say that it is easy, quite the reverse). But, where the Internet has made the difference, is that anyone can get into business themselves. Plus, bloggs have provided a great opportunity for an existing business to add to their profits.

So, of course, business blogs are created for a different reason. This is serious! Though our experience of business bloggs, is that they are fun too. People put them up on the web to do many things: advertise their own products and services, or, by way of affiliate marketing, those of other companies that fit well with their own product or service profile.

Something else that we should consider, is this happy fact that, business blogs are a great way of promoting the company. This means that readers of their web-site, will know more than they could normally. Think about it - you can have a giant catalogue online, one that would take thousands to print, never mind distribute. With a business related blog, you can reach more people with more information. That, as I said before, this powerful. With their very own blog, a business can establish a name for themeslves in the virtual on-line market. It really is a great opportunity for small and young businesses. For example, through publishing articles, anyone can put up information very useful to the reader’s life.

So, how do you get started?

Here is a six point plan:

1. Have an aim:

Captain Kirk existed in a 3-dimensional world. We, mere mortals, are subject to only 2, here on the Earth. The Internet might be a ‘virtual’ world, but its more real than Kirk’s ship and fellow space travellers! But, it can be considered to be 3-dimensional. You can, literally, go in any direction you want. There are very few limitations. So, this demands discipline. Have an aim, and you will get more from your blogging.

2. Think about your target market:

We call this a niche.  What do they need?  What can you provide that nobody else can? You need to get into the mind of your readers. What interests them? Or, more importantly, what will they pay for?  If you can provide great information for your readers, you will succeed! After all, the reason for anyone to enjoy blogging is to be on a voyage of discovery.

Let’s explore this for a minute: people writing bloggs are not just after in formation. Remember the personal motives behind blogging.  Most bloggers would love to be “heard” by someone. They love to have their ‘ideas’ read by others, and to see a response. Basically, they would love to be ‘known’. Its a basic human need which the Internet, in particular, is able to meet.  Therefore, it is very important for you to come up with material that everybody can understand easily. Maybe not so much that these people can relate to it, but that they, at least, can understand it.

3. Use pictures and images:

They say, “A picture speaks a thousand words.” Its very true. You are aiming to attract visitors, turn them into subscribers, and finally into buyers. (I prefer to call them clients - but that is just a personal thing). So, to make your blogging efforts worthwhile you must make it worth your visitors’ time. Time is precious. It takes effort to browse. So, make it worthwhite to your readers. One great way to do this is to put in some pictures. Not necessarily a picture of yourself, but, any photographs will do, as long as doing so does not pose any danger to anyone. Neither should you indulge in insulting anyone.

4. Make your visitor’s experience memorable:

The point here is to provide blogs that are both constructive and beneficial to a large number of people. You want them to come back - again, again and again! A danger of blogging is that you can truly say anything you want to the world! That is not always wise, as a minimum. Who is interested in your own personal quirks? Remember point one?

Write-ups, beneficial to your readers, make great web-content. Remember, you are dealing with state-of-the-art 21st century technology here. You don’t want to come across as a crank indulging yourself in mere entertainment. You don’t want people to think that you are quirky.

5. Keep it simple:

There is an old saying, “Keep it simple stupid.” KISS! That has been the tenet of sales years. So, bring it up to date - make sure that you avoid making multifaceted and over-complicated blogs. You can have too much technology. Videos take a long time to load. With flash graphics, it’s the same thing. Yes, you can have video. Yes, you can have gizmos. But, keep it to a minimum. To make an interesting blog, is great! But, keep it simple. And, more importantly, keep your language is simple. You are dealing with ordinary people here. It’s best to stick to simple facts and figures. Also, keep your blog posts short (this one, in particular, is not a good example).

6. Give them something to do:

If possible, make your blog interactive. You can do this very simply. You don’t need flash graphics to do it. One way is to place video or audio clips onto your blog. Or, how about a flow chart? All you need is one simple question, and a couple of links for different answers. Each link takes the visitor to a different page. You can provide a series of questions, leading the visitor to a certain conclusion. Use your imagination!

You could have an area for visitor comments or for feedback. That way, you can get reactions from other people and you know what impresses them. You might even gain some new friends just by making them feel like they have a friend in you and are totally at home on your web-site.

So, remember that blogs are not created just for the shear fun of it, there is a serious side. In fact, it is that side - the sharing of information - that really has all the potential. That is not to deny the value of fun. Not at all, if you can give serious information in a way that people enjoy, then you have won!

So, blogging is the 21st century way of getting a message across, sharing information and staying in contact. No-one can imagine them taking over completely from newspapers, etc. But, they have a great contribution to make. Indeed, its becoming an art form….

Richard

A Sense of Purpose

Posted In: Personal Success by Support

A Direction for Your Life

If someone were to ask you what the purpose of your life is, would you have an answer? Most people would, but the majority of the answers would not be valid. Most would answer, “To raise my children,” or “To be wealthy!” These are goals that one might set, but are far from being an overall purpose.

“An action in course of execution.” -Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary

A purpose is something that you want to do throughout your life, regardless of other goals. It must be intermeshed with those goals, but it is NOT those goals. It is a reason to live, to exist, and a way to make a difference. Your purpose is something that will encompass all of the years of your life. Everything that you do will either align with your purpose or further it.

The Need for a Purpose

“All great success starts with selecting one major, definite purpose.” –Brian Tracy, The Psychology of Achievement

A purpose in life is what defines everyone. If you wake up in the morning, go to work, come home, go to sleep, and do the same thing day in and day out for the rest of your life, then you have no purpose. A side effect of not having a purpose is that you will not set goals for yourself. Without purpose, what would be the point? Without purpose, you have only the concept of survival.

Look at the major successful individuals of the world, be they business people, politicians, doctors, or even lawyers. Every one of them has a cause that they are passionate about. It might be animal rights, or even saving the environment. This cause, their purpose, is what has driven them throughout their lives to constantly reach further, to take an extra step towards their goals every single day. Purpose is a requirement for success. You cannot achieve one without the other.

Choosing Your Purpose

Before actually choosing your purpose, take a moment to consider your passions. What are you fascinated with? What is important to you? Is there some wrong being committed everyday that leaves you saying, “Someone should do something about that.” Does a hungry child break your heart? Do you wonder why no one is feeding them? Look inside yourself and find out what you feel strongly about and you will likely have your purpose.

When you consider a possible life-long purpose, take into account those very words, “life-long.” Is your purpose something that will still be this important to you in sixty years? Is it important enough to invest years of your life into? It is vital that you should be committed to whatever purpose you choose. If not, then you are merely wasting years of your life.

Lastly, when choosing your purpose, you must be certain that it is enough. You have to be able to lay down in the evening and say, “I did a good thing today.” It must be enough of an impact for you to believe that you are doing something great for the larger cause. Purpose is a reflection of self. If we do not believe one hundred percent in our purpose, we will not believe in ourselves. If we do not believe in ourselves, we will never achieve success within our own hearts and minds.

Your friend and companion on life’s journey,

Richard

Reaching your Ultimate Potential

A popular mindset in today’s society is the belief that we should live one day at a time and accept our life stations. While it is commendable to be able to enjoy your life at every moment, a lack of looking to the future can be hindering to say the least. Take the example of a boat at sea. The captain of this ship is in the middle of the ocean with no compass. He wants to reach a certain point, but has no map or a plan to get there. He is just hoping that the waves will happen to push him in the right direction. His chances of reaching his destination are pretty much zero. He knows where he wants to go, but has no plan on how to get there. He is lost at sea.

Those who do not place goals in their lives are pretty much captains of that very same boat. They will end up tossed on the waves, going whichever way the wind blows. They wish and want, but they do not take the necessary steps to get there. They do not plan ahead. A map of your life is an integral part of reaching your goals and achieving personal success. This holds true for every aspect of your life, from financial all the way down to the minor aspects, such as where you live.

Why do I Need Goals?

“Man’s need for meaning and purpose is the greatest single drive in human nature.” -Brian Tracy, The Psychology of Achievement

Often we think that we have it made. Nevertheless, regardless of your current station in life, you will inevitably find that you are not happy because you have no purpose. A life without goals is a life without purpose. There is something inside the hearts and minds of humankind that drives us to go further. We must be doing something, reaching for some better way. This is the very same concept that was found in the many great inventors of the past. They had to shoot for something bigger, something unknown to them. They did not do it for the money, but rather to improve things within their lives as well as to impact the world. Humankind simply must have a purpose to achieve personal success.

What should my Goals be?

First, before even considering your long-term and short-term goals, take into consideration your ideas. Very often people see a rich guru on television marketing an idea or a product that they had thought about years before. He or she might have been that rich millionaire if only they had taken their ideas seriously. Make it a point to write your ideas down and insert them into your goals. Do not simply consider and idea and toss it to the side. Plan out how you can see it to fruition.

As for the legitimacy of your goals, use common sense, but do not be afraid to dream. Base your goals on what you want out of life, of what you wish to ultimately become. Do not listen to those around you who tell you that you cannot possibly achieve something. Your boundaries are those that you set. Do not allow others to set them for you.

Plan your goals one step at a time. Do not write down that you want to go to college, then on the next page put that you want to be rich. That is the equivalent of the ship lost at sea. Plan out each step of your goals, each section of your life. Do not just put where you want to be, but log how you plan on getting there. Just saying that you want to reach a particular point is not enough.

An individual that has what he or she considers a truly successful life of achievement is one that recognizes the fact that we must have somewhere to go, and a map to get there. This is where most people drop the ball. They have somewhere that they want to be, but they have no idea, no plan, on how to get there. Set goals, utilize your ideas, and aim for a future of achievement.

Richard

Financial Freedom

Posted In: Personal Success by Support

The Bonds of Money

Money is, unfortunately, a requirement in today’s society. How much money we have is all too often the manner in which many people identify how successful we are. You must break the bonds of that point of view. Success can be measured in so many ways, and often money is the least of these. Of course, it is important to avoid debt as much as humanly possible, but do not measure your success by how little you owe or how much you have. Also, do not put too much credit on how successful other people think you are. The individual that is seeking it can be the only one to measure personal success. The opinions of those from the outside looking in will only hinder you. You will never find inner peace, achievement, or happiness through the opinions of others.

What is Financial Freedom?

“We cannot enjoy life if we’re worried over not having enough money.” – Brian Tracy, The Psychology of Achievement

Financial freedom is not a lack of debt or a multitude of dollar bills. It cannot be measured by some universal set amount of cash that you have stored up in the bank. Truthfully, financial freedom has a different dollar sign for everyone. For the poor man who is out of work and cannot afford to buy his family food, financial freedom might be three hundred dollars per week, or less. For the blue-collar worker who has three children and a two-bedroom house, financial freedom may be defined as enough money to get a bigger house.

You see, there are two financial aspects that are often confused. There are wants and then there are needs. Somewhere between those two, there is financial freedom. Wants are things that we do not necessarily need, but that catch our eyes. These are things that are not a requirement for our lives to be complete, but would be nice to have regardless. The needs are things that we have to have to survive. These consist of a home, a vehicle, food, clothing, and enough money to cover the utilities. They are the must-haves of life.

Lurking somewhere between the two are financial freedom. There is enough money to survive with a decent amount left over to enjoy a few luxuries occasionally. There is no danger of losing everything, or anything, though you might not have enough to buy a new car on a whim. Financial freedom is not being rich, as we often think. It is simply having the ability to be able to set goals without worrying about money. It is exactly what the term says, freedom from financial worries.

How Can I Achieve Financial Freedom?

This is a fairly simple process. First, set goals. Figure out how much money you need to bring in to lead a comfortable life early on. Toss out the concept of getting rich as your solution. If by some slim chance that should happen, then bravo for you. Nevertheless, do not under any circumstances factor that in or count on it. Simply figure out your monthly bills, add them all up, divide them by four, and see how much you need. Do not forget the minor aspects, such as fuel expenses and insurance. Be very thorough!

Once you have all this added up, begin to figure out how you can bring in this much money. Make your solution one that you can edit later on. Do not choose a career that tops out where you will make just enough to reach this point. Choose something that you can move up in. Once you reach your comfort level at this point, create a new plan that will take you to the next level. Do not make huge jumps in your plans. Just take it one level at a time, constantly working towards your next goal. As time goes by, you will see that you are getting further away from the “needs” point and nearing the “wants.”

The goal that we need to reach for when seeking financial freedom is, simply put, a lack of worry. Statistics state that the majority of people in the United States alone are one paycheck away from total loss. Those who accept this as a fact of life are those who will never achieve financial freedom or internal success. Plan your life out, step by step. Do not allow financial worries to stand in your way. Use common sense and a well-written blueprint to achieve your ultimate life goals.

Richard

Loving Relationships

Posted In: Personal Success by Support

Love Equals Life

You can have all the money in the world, the best business, a luxurious mansion on a hill, drive the newest sports-car on the market, and still not have a successful life of achievement if you do not have loving relationships. Healthy relationships are an absolute requirement for full internal and external success. If one does not have loved ones, then he/she is not a complete success. It is simply a requirement of the human condition. Consider the world’s most successful individuals, entrepreneurs, CEO’s, major marketing experts, etc. The one thing that the majority of these individuals have in common is that they are happily married with children that they love. This is not a coincidence. These individuals are successful only because they know that success cannot be achieved only by monetary means. Their true success was found in their hearts and the hearts of others.

Why Love?

“The purpose of life is to develop loving relationships. When we look back over our lives, we find that the most enjoyable times were shared with those we love. Love grows only sharing. The more you give away, the more you get back If we can learn to love ourselves and others, we can then go on to the full realization of our human destiny.” -Brian Tracy, The Psychology of Achievement

There are certain aspects of a life that signifies if it was a successful one. There is the financial end, the healthy aspect, the dreams that were achieved, and a few more. Many of these aspects can be considered as optional. Loving and successful relationships, however, are always a necessity. If a person is successful throughout his or her life and dies alone and lonely, then no one sees them as one who has lived a good and successful life. You need at least, the very minimum, of one special friend and one loving mate to be completely successful, even in your own eyes.

That Special Someone

In no way are we telling you to go out, find someone that you might like today, and run off and get married. There is a difference between a relationship and a loving relationship. If we have an archenemy, then that is a relationship. Granted, it is not a healthy one, but it is a relationship nonetheless.

You do not have to actively look for that special someone. It is not necessary to actually go hunting for them. To be honest, this often ends in tragedy. The trick is not to hunt for this person, but merely to be open to them when they do come. Don’t search, but keep your eyes open. At some point, you will stumble upon the right person, and it’s very important that you know them when they show themselves.

How Will I Know?

Recognizing the right person is a difficult task, at best. All too often we second guess ourselves. When the right person comes along, we wonder if we are making a bad choice. Usually we do this because we look at only the negative aspects of a person, be it physical, emotional, or mental. There are a few aspects one can look at to see if you are compatible and have a good chance at building a healthy relationship.

First, look at the individual’s goals. If your goals are to start your own business in your hometown and build it up over the years and their goals are to move to a foreign country, then obviously there will be issues. For this to even come close to working someone would have to give up on his or her dreams. If you have to surrender your dreams and life goals for someone, then there is a high probability that this is not the love of your life. Make certain that your goals and dreams are compatible.

Then, instead of focusing on the negative aspects of the possible significant other, look within yourself. Do you want to give everything to make this person smile? Does a moment alone with this person walking on the beach mean more to you than a full year of making money? When you give to this person, do you expect something in return or is it simple enough to have them near? Then, once you have answered all these questions, ask yourself if you honestly believe that the other person will have the exact same answers if they asked themselves the same questions. If the answer is yes, you likely have a winner.

Other Relationships

Relationships are important on a wider scale than merely that of the spouse. It is important to make good friends who would be there for you at a moments notice in your times of need. The best way to do this is to offer that same thing to others. When someone is suffering, be there. Ask nothing in return. Drop everything to be a friend.

The same holds true for children. If you have children, do not simply assume that fathering them was enough. Spend quality time with them. Take one day per week out and focus completely on them. Sacrifice time to go to their games, recitals, or any other activity that they are involved in. Time is your key here. To your children, though they likely will not realize it until they mature, your time is the most valuable asset, your greatest gift.

To reach a point in our lives where we consider ourselves successful achievers, we must always include the aspect of successful relationships. Along the way it might seem as if such things were too time-consuming and can wait until later on, after we have achieved financial success, but in the long run, we will find that we wasted years of our lives seeking our goals alone. True success can be multiplied by two, three, and so on. Do not seek achievement on the road of life alone.

Health and Energy

Posted In: Personal Success by Support

Success and Achievement Begins with You!

One of the key factors of a successful life is health and energy. All too often, these factors are overlooked for the more prominent aspects, such as control and long term planning. Nevertheless, if you are living an unhealthy lifestyle and lacking in energetic momentum, all the rest will soon fall to the wayside. Good health and energy are integral in reaching your long-term goals as well as simply enjoying the here and now.

One Wheel on the Vehicle to Success

“If we don’t have good health and energy, we don’t get much satisfaction out of life” – Brian Tracy, The Psychology of Achievement

One might wonder why poor health would impact a person’s success outside of the medical realm. The answer can be summed up in one dreadful word, depression. Regardless of whether the health issue is physical, mental, or emotional, depression can often be the end effect. Take the online entrepreneur for example. He is making good money through a web-based service. Then, he gets sick and is bound to his bed. He can still make money, but the pain is distracting. He cannot get out of bed, so someone has to help him. His helplessness leads to depression. His depression results in a lack of drive and inspiration. His business fails because his health hinders his drive. It is a sad chain of events.

The same holds true for the concept of energy. If we are tired all of the time, we will not have the drive reach for our goals. We might not notice it at first. Generally, it starts with a phrase such as, “I’m exhausted. I’ll do this tomorrow.” Once we start putting off our goals and dreams, we begin to lose them one day at a time. Tomorrow truly never comes. You see, the ability to find ultimate achievement is like a vehicle. Every aspect is one wheel. If a vehicle has just one wheel missing, it goes nowhere. Health and Energy is one of these wheels, and without it, the car, as well as yourself, will not be able to be driven.

Maintaining Health and Energy

Of course, the next question is, “How do I reach an acceptable level of good health and energy?” The energy aspect is fairly simple. Get plenty of rest. Everyone needs a minimum of eight hours of sleep every night. Do not depend on outside substances for energy. Coffee may be enjoyable, but it is not an acceptable replacement for rest. Authentic energy through plenty of rest is integral to having good health, and good health is an absolute in energy. These two aspects rely upon one another.

To reach and maintain good health, one has to put a little more work into it, particularly in the beginning. You need to balance your diet well. Do not attempt the many diets that promise that you can lose ten pounds per day. Simply eat a balanced diet. Your body will take care of the rest.

Though your day is likely pretty much full from reaching for your goals, always make certain that you are taking time to exercise. You do not have to do push-ups, sit-ups, and all that, but do take time out to walk a mile a day. It does not take all that long and will make a major difference in your physical well-being. Also, be sure to have at least one medical check-up a year. It seems like a waste of time when you are not sick to begin with, but in the long run, it can make all the difference in the world.

Success can be measured in many ways, such as financial or relationship-wise. Nevertheless, how can we truly say that we are successful when we do not have the energy to go out and enjoy it, or to even reach that success? Start with yourself. Make absolutely sure that your lifestyle is one that can support your dreams and goals in the long run.

Your friend on the web & in business,

Richard
