Article directories like http://www.ezinearticles.com will help you to jumpstart your Internet marketing career if you can compose an article well.

Writing articles is a good way to get you well known.

At the beginning, you may have little exposure and even less fame compared to the seasoned Internet marketers and writers.

But after you start writing more and more, people will get curious.

They will start wondering, “Who is this guy? I see his articles all around the article directory.” More and more people will take notice of you and your credibility will improve the more you write.

People might even click on the links and visit your websites. You can lead them to your squeeze page and they will opt-in and you can give/sell them more of your articles and E-books.

Here are 2 ways to progress with Article Marketing:

2. Here’s a 4 point action plan to explode your traffic through article marketing:

i - Pick ‘Top 10′ article directories. If you go to Google and type in “top pagerank article directories” or “top article directories by pagerank”, you get a list. Pick the top 10 you want. Submit unique articles to those 10. Maybe you want to make one your ‘favourite’, which you target specifically.

ii - Use the Free Traffic System to post multiple artilcles. Basically, every article you submit has spin tags, so produces multiple versions. With FTS, you can have anchor texts in the body of your article and they are posted on blogs. This is great for SEO and producing multiple back-links. You can purchase a piece of software called Magic Article Rewriter that will produce spin tags for you.

iii - Use Magic Article Rewriter and Submitter to post multiple articles to all the other article directories. Its probably a good idea to delete your Top 10 articles from the list. You can take a look at this list (in MAS) and your list by pagerank from Google, and decide on some that are not listed in MAS, for your Top 10. You add spin tags in MAR and submit with MAS to multiple directories. This is providing multiple ‘unique’ articles to many directories in one go. Sometimes, it might be worth adding a link to your best articles on eZine Articles as EA has a high pagerank and is going to rank your EA article high for SEO.

iv - Submit unique articles to your blog and web100k. http://www.web100k.com

Ezine Articles is most probably the best article directory on the Internet. It also has the highest page rank. Add to that, that it is by far the most widely utilized by Online Marketers. In the past you could just submit any topic, you wanted, to them. Also, you could include any links you wished, and harvest the payoffs for your great content.

However changes have come slowly but surely. Now Ezine Articles has been clamping down on Internet Marketers. Alright, this seems like a huge problme for you, right now. However, it will, in the end, mean somewhere you can go for even better marketing. Chris Knight is the owner of EzineArticles.com and he wants to keep it number one. That’s good news. But, it means he has applied new rules to the site. Also, that will most likely carry on growing this year.

What happened last year was, they stopped anyone submitting articles about certain topics. For example, you can no longer submit articles about private label rights products or articles. Some marketers were obviously very disappointed when these new rules seemed to hamper their progress.

Another thing was, Ezine Articles put through the idea of a Premium account. With this you could pay almost $50 a month for a much faster service. This would give you better reporting and more facilities on your account. You would get an increased number of resource bio boxes you could store in your account, for example.

Chris Knight is profoundly aware of how Google sees his site. For 2010, he’s thinking of making a change that will stop you, or, at least, hinder your power to edit your articles after they are submitted and live on the site.

Why is this likely to come this year? Well, Google sees there’s an article in a certain place. Then, if your article is edited (and according to Chris, about 83% of edits are just resource box edits), then that article ceases to be live any more. So, Google searches and sees absolutley nothing there – its a ‘black-hole’ in Ezine Articles. That makes them look very bad in the eyes of Google.

And, you can bet that, where EA has lead, others will follow. Other article directories are definately expecting to clamp down on affiliate links and that kind of thing (spam topics are a particular target - good thing too). Its just like with all the social networks. What they fear is that their site will be slapped by Google. So, they cannot allow marketers to produce a “risky neighbourhood” online, can they?

As Chris Knight said on his directory blog this year, “Our reputation is on the line with every single outbound link included on every single article.”
Don’t forget, that includes the reputation of everybody who takes part in the EzineArticles directory. It makes sense for them to be very careful over where and to whom you are linking.

So, how should you react? Well, rather than being angry with the new rules, why not think of them with a positive attitude? It means, after all, that Ezine Articles are working very hard to make sure your content is safeguarded! If their page rank and Alexa ranking increase, you directly benefit. If they squeeze out the spammers and that kind of thing, you benefit again. These new rules actually help good and ethical marketers.

The secret to making money online with private label rights products is two-fold: 1 - Being creative; and 2 - Taking action. Let your mind come up with ideas of what you can do with PLR content. The most important thing is that your ideas fit the ‘needs,’ ‘wants’ and ‘desires’ of your clients. Then, take action! Put your ideas into practice.

Here are the steps to take (a frame-work for you to modify as you see fit):

1. Type ‘Free PLR reports’ or something similar into Google. You might add your keyword or niche - for example ‘article marketing.’

2. Assume you find a report or series of articles. Edit them to make them your own. You could add a bio at the front with your main web-site link. Then, a resource page at the back with links for your other products.

3. Re-brand the report by re-naming it and creating a new set of graphics. You can get graphics done for $30 which look great, including a word.doc graphic for a great looking PDF.

4. Edit the sales page that comes with the report (if you get one). If you don’t, then look up ten web-sites selling something similar and note the best features and what you like. Don’t rip off someone else’s web-site or sales copy, but use this as inspiration to write your own.

5. Then add your completed report and sales page on your site. Offer your new report for $7. That’s priced to get you some income but also as a kind of squeeze page. You can get 10% conversions for this kind of site quite easily. You might like to add an audio sales message to help with this.

6. Now, record the report as an audio (MP3). You can get free software to do this from Audacity.

7. Make another sales page for the MP3 offering it as an upsell for another $17.

8. On the download pages for the two products, offer Master Resale Rights - $27 for just the report and $47 for the complete package.

9. Next, take a couple of the principles or tips taught in your report and make a free version of the report. Be sure to include a link to the sales page for your $7 full version of the report.

Now, you need to concentrate on traffic generation. Here are five methods, with many more possibilities open to you:
i - send a message to the subscribers on your list.
ii - make a series of articles from the main report and post them on eZine Articles and other article directories. Make sure there is a link pointing back to your sales page.
iii - add a article about your new product on your blog.
iv - post the freebie version of your report on as many freebie sites as you can find.
v - post the MP3, or a cut-down version, on pod-casting sites.

This product and traffic generation cycle will produce an autopilot business. You will get new subscribers and sales.

Thanks. Get going and get earning online!

Richard

The whole idea of Article Marketing is not new.  In fact, it has been around for a few years now.  The great thing about it is that you can use this technique to promote your products or services to a truly massive audience absolutely free.  And, furthermore, its not that difficult to master, even if you are not the creative type.  You can quite easily get a 500 word article together from scratch.  The truth is, its quite simple.  All you need to do is some basic research.  Pull all the information you need for your article straight from the Internet and simply form a brand new article to submit.  So, here are the four steps that will help you be successful with your article submissions to the directories:

First, before you press “article submit” to the directory, remember to include your author “bio” at the very bottom of every single article you write.  This is where traffic comes from.  No bio, no traffic!  You will also need to include a link to your web-site or the affiliate product you are promoting.  One of the great things about article marketing is that you don’t really even need your own web-site.  You can simply use affiliate programs to write reviews about and then link to the product sales page from your article.

Second, be honest in what you are saying to people.  That way, they will be more likely to see you as a resource for information, now and in the future.  The idea is not to over sell anything or to anyone.  Actually, you know what? its better to do the exact opposite.  So, do write your articles with character and honesty and your readers will appreciate your efforts.  Think of what you would want to read yourself.  You will be richly rewarded with affiliate sales if you do this step correctly.

Thirdly, if you are still struggling to generate an entire article on your own, there is another option for you to consider.  What you can do is, search the various article directories for topics that you are interested in, then, write an introduction and also a summary, as paragraphs and enclose the article.  Then you can re-submit the article with your brand new content and affiliate or web-site links.  This is also a great tactic if you want to get traffic to a blog.

Fourthly, make sure you stay specific and within your niche.  Please don’t write about something you have no idea about.  That is to guarantee failure, not success.  So, stick with topics that are of interest to you.  You will then be less likely to lose interest in the project.  A good way to maintain interest is if you can find a way to make it more entertaining.  See Michael Cheney’s article “The Attack of the Google Killer Zombies” for an example.

Alright, article submitting for profit is not going to make you into the next Donald Trump, but it can give you the opportunity to start with something small and then build your on your success and grow your profile and business.  There is, basically, no investment other than your own time and energy.  And, you can be very successful, if you treat it as a real job and not just some side-line project.  Take it seriously and make it work for you.

May you know the success you desire soon,

Richard Mortimer
